Food Safety Committee of the State Council plans 8 key food

Beijing, Feb. 19 (reporter Zhou Tingyu) the reporter learned from the office of the food safety committee of the State Council on Feb. 19 that the third plenary meeting of the food safety committee of the State Council was held on Feb. 18 to make a comprehensive plan for further strengthening the food safety work in 2011, and eight key tasks were defined:
 
 
 
——We will crack down on food safety violations and effectively solve the prominent problems in the field of food safety that harm the interests of the masses.
 
——We will deepen the comprehensive management of key industries such as dairy products, edible oil, meat products, health food, food additives, and alcohol to ensure the safety of key food varieties.
 
——Strictly regulate the production and operation of food enterprises, and supervise the implementation of management measures to ensure food safety.
 
——We will improve the food safety emergency system and respond to food safety incidents in a timely and effective manner.
 
——We will vigorously strengthen the capacity-building of food safety supervision, and improve the comprehensive coordination of food safety and the whole process supervision mechanism.
 
——Establish food safety responsibility system and accountability system, and strictly implement the main responsibility of food safety and government supervision responsibility of food producers and operators.
 
——We should try our best to solve the deep contradictions and problems of food safety.
 
——We will strengthen the popularization of science and education in food safety, and enhance the people's awareness and ability of safe consumption.
